MARCH Cricket Club coach Jenny Lowe has become the first woman to be appointed as an ECB cricket development manager at English county level.
This week, Jenny, a March Cricket Club committee member and the ladies and girls' coach, began her new role with ECB Cambridgeshire, based at Fenner's, in Cambridge.
- LOOK out for more news on Jenny's role with the ECB in next week's Cambs Times and Wisbech Standard.
- PUPILS at several March schools will be able to participate in expert cricket coaching during the summer, thanks to March Cricket Club.
The club is participating in the Cricket Foundation's Chance to Shine programme, which aims to introduce the game to millions of school children.
And now expert coaching will be provided for children from Neale-Wade Community College, Westwood Junior, Cavalry, All Saints and Burrowmoor Primary Schools.
Les Mills, March Cricket Club's Chance to Shine manager, said: "It is great to strengthen our links with the local community.
"Many of these children wouldn't have the chance to play cricket otherwise, so our coaches love introducing them to the game. We hope that the children will become members of our club."
For more information call Les Mills on 01354 652029.
