FEN Potter Joe Perry exited the Snooker World Championship with a 13-7 defeat to Stephen Maguire on Saturday.

The Chatteris star had looked in good form at the Crucible, thrashing Graeme Dott 10-1 in the first round.

But Perry’s tournament was as good as over after the second session of his last 16 clash, which he lost 6-2.

World number seven Maguire, who led 5-3 after a high-standard first session, forged ahead on Friday as a combination of errors and bad luck haunted the Fen Potter’s game.

Perry, who had made a sparkling century in the 15th, won the first two frames of the final session but Maguire eased into the quarter-finals.
