Chatteris cueman Joe Perry continued his fine form at the Ladbrokes World Grand Prix in Llandudno with a 4-1 quarter-final success over Ali Carter.

The 41-year-old had only dropped one frame in this year’s tournament prior to his meeting with the world number 32 this afternoon (March 11), and it looked like his run was set to continue after he took the first frame.

Carter levelled matters in the second frame, but The Gentleman showed great composure to take the next three frames to join Ding Junhui in the last four of the tournament - pocketing £20,000 in the process.

There, Perry will face either current world champion Stuart Bingham or Ryan Day, who go head-to-head at 8pm tonight.

Coverage of Perry’s semi-final will be broadcast live tomorrow on ITV4.
