Chatteris potter Joe Perry survived a scare to progress into the second round of the Betway UK Championships at the York Barbican last night (Thursday 24).
Perry surged into a 4-0 lead - which included a fourth-frame break of 101 - over underdog Jamie Curtis-Barrett, but the 121st seed fired back to reduce his lead to 4-3.
The Gentleman then booked his place in the next round – and a meeting with Xiao Guodong on Sunday (27) – by winning the following two frames.
