Chatteris potter Joe Perry will take on one of the all-time greats for a place in the German Masters.
‘Gentlemen Joe’ faces Jimmy White in a second-round qualifier at the Metrodome venue in Barnsley on Friday (December 9).
A place in the tournament proper in Berlin, in early February, awaits the winner.
Perry survived a scare in his opening qualifying match against Norwegian opponent Kurt Maflin earlier this week.
The local man eventually closed out a 5-3 success after seeing winning the opening four frames.
Perry then heads further north next week to take part in the new Coral Scottish Open in Glasgow.
He faces a first-round clash against Adam Duffy on Tuesday afternoon in a tournament which carries a prize of £70,000 for the champion.
