THE successful Fenland Ju-Jitsu group has celebrated bringing a new club to Whittlesey with more grading passes.

In addition to existing clubs in March and Wisbech, Fenland Ju-Jitsu opened two more in Whittlesey and Downham Market in the spring.

And throughout last month, the clubs' students worked hard to progress through their gradings, sanctioned by the British Ju-Jitsu Association.

A total of 36 students took part and there were passes at various levels.

Seven students passed junior yellow tag, 14 junior yellow belt, five senior yellow belt, seven junior orange belt, one junior orange tag and two senior green belt.

Martin Hunnable, head coach at Fenland Ju-Jitsu said: "It was another fantastic result for our students and all their hard work and determination has paid off.

"The last couple of months have been very exciting but also very scary with the opening of two new locations and not knowing how they would be received.

"If all the students carry on at these levels, it won't be long before the Fens have more black belt instructors."

He added: "We would like to express our sincere thanks to all the students old and new that have stuck with us during this expansion period and together we will go from strength to strength".

Fenland Ju-Jitsu offers a free trial to new students of all ages. All instructors are fully qualified and insured, experienced, friendly and CRB checked instructors.
