Karting stars make late surge for honours at final winter meeting

MORE than 60 karts took to the track at the Norfolk Arena as Wisbech & District Kart Racing Club staged their final winter meeting.

Racers battled it out for honours in the final standings of the three-event winter series.

Stephen Gardener led the way by claiming second place overall in the 125 2 stroke class with a maximum 100 points.

Henry Laws cruised to victory in the 70cc class, winning his third race to seal a total points score of 288 out of 300.

Victory for Ben Ward meant he secured the 90cc title, while Craig Nichols took the 125 4 stroke juniors trophy with his third win of the series.
