A WHITTLESEY kickboxing coach has stood out as one of the best performers in high-ranking black belt gradings, held in Corby.
Ritchie Walton was joined by three other kickboxers from the Peterborough area at the December grading sessions held at the Lodge Park Sports Centre and all four were praised for their technical competence.
Gary Gibson and British Chinese Kickboxing Association (BCKA) England team youth fighter Courtney Brown, both passed 1st Dan black belt while Walton and Lee Graham, coach with a Stamford club, impressed the grading panel to pass their 2nd Dan black belt gradings.
The four students stood out as the best technicians of the day and received praise from chief instructor Alex Barrowman and BCKA executives.
The Peterborough BCKA clubs are now looking to recruit new members who wish to pursue a successful and healthy lifestyle through kickboxing.
As well as learning kickboxing, combination punching, pad work, weapon defences and competition sparring, new students will also benefit from an improvement in their fitness, flexibility, posture and well-being.
