MARCH Golf Club’s new captains for 2011 held their inaugural “drive-in” on Sunday.
Ladies’ captain Brenda Softley beat her brother-in-law and men’s captain Phil Softley with a drive of 142 yards. Her ball finished around 30 yards further down the fairway than his.
The ‘drive-in’ was followed by a nine-hole mixed greensome competition which was won by Cliff Jones and Maureen Pope with 19 points.
