Lea Jordan has resigned as manager of struggling Cambs League top-flight side Chatteris Town – after only two-and-a-half months in the job.
The former Ramsey Town chief was appointed to succeed Ashley Taylor in late October, but has endured a tough reign.
Jordan suffered defeat in all eight games at the helm with the Lilies falling to the bottom of the Kershaw Premier Division table and issues away from football have now forced his exit.
Jordan, who notified club chiefs of his resignation on Wednesday, said: “It has been a very challenging experience managing Chatteris, but I’m grateful to have had the opportunity.
“It pains me to have to walk away with the club sitting bottom of the table, but I’m not in a position to continue due to my circumstances away from football.
“Obviously I wish the club all the very best and hope they can stay up.”
Chatteris were beaten 2-0 at Fulbourn Institute last Saturday. They face a crunch home clash against second-bottom Foxton at West Street tomorrow.

Chairman Craig Watson said: “It is a shame to see Lea go. He came in at a tough time and it just hasn’t worked out for him.
“Sean McKay is taking over for the time being and he’ll certainly be in charge for the next few games.”
