Making a splash - March Marlins swimmer Jessica Shaw bags 10 medals

March Marlins swimmers were present at Cambridge, Newmarket and Huntingdon over the weekend.
Ten medals were won by 10 year old Jessica Shaw who went to the Cambridge Grand Prix which was held from Friday to Sunday.
She had five gold, one silver and four bronze medals and also achieved eight personal bests and eight club records as well as given the title of top 10 year old girl.
Gold and club records in 400m free, 400m IM, 200IM and 50m fly also gold in 50m breast.
Silver and club record in 200m free.
Bronze and club records in 200m back, 200m breast, 50m back, also bronze in 50m free.
On Saturday night 14 Marlins swimmers competed in Huntingdon’s Autumn Shield and claimed an excellent 2nd place beating Ely and St Neots with Huntingdon as the winners.
There were 13 personal bests between them and a club record for Aiden Gray.
All swimmers put in 100 per cent effort and the trophy was presented to Saule Majauskis and Jack Dawson.
There were also four masters swimmers at Newmarket attending the East Region Masters championships and between them gained a fistful of medals.
They are gearing up for the British Championships in three weeks’ time in Sheffield.
