MARCH Bears Rugby Club won their final game of the season to secure a comfortable mid-table finish.
The Bears’ remarkable renaissance was completed as they beat St Ives II 25-5 to cap a stunning second-half of the season in the 12-team X.X Super Deuxieme Nord Merit Table.
Tries from Lee Kupyn (2), Shaun Saxby and Rob Whyman clinched the win with extra points being added from the boot of Matty Day.
Club president Barry Feetham said: “From being one of the weaker sides at the beginning of the season, to finish the season as the form side, showed great determination and heart from all of the players and coaches.”
An inter-club match between the Bears and the Legends will be held at Elm Road Sports Field on Saturday. Kick-off: 3pm.
