MARCH landyachter Rhys Davies’ dream of consecutive British Championship’s were dashed in Redcar at the fifth round of the British Landsailing Championship series.
In the weekend’s three races, Davies came third, second and third to finish the event in second place overall.
But Davies could not overtake championship leader Martin Hale. who has built an unassailable lead at the top of the standings and will take his national title at the end of the season.
Davies will miss the final event of the season at Hoylake but his second place should be enough the runner-up spot in the championship.
