It’s said that every cloud has a silver lining, but it’s unlikely that March Town will be feeling philosophical after their most recent defeat.

The Hares hit the net for the first time since January 21 last weekend courtesy of youngster Casey Logan - but that wasn’t enough to stop them from slumping to their fifth consecutive Thurlow Nunn First Division defeat.

Debenham LC, who sit three places above March in the standings, were the visitors to the GER on Saturday, and despite their inconsistent recent form, ran in four goals to ensure Mel Mattless’ men’s winless run would stretch into March.

The Hares now sit in 18th in the standings, but have a healthy 10-point lead over the side below them, Needham Market Reserves.

They travel to fellow strugglers Dereham Town Reserves this Saturday (3pm), before another away trip to Team Bury, who currently sit one point but two places above them in the standings.
