March Town Cricket Club members turn out for pre-season spring clean

MORE than 20 members gathered at March Town Cricket Club on Saturday to give the ground and pavilion a spring clean.

Volunteers renovated the scorebox, repaired fences and cleaned out dykes as part of the England and Wales Cricket Board initiative, NatWest CricketForce.

With the season set to begin in two weeks time, cricket clubs across the country were working improve their facilities. All helpers received a free CricketForce t-shirt.

Les Mills, March Town Cricket Club Chairman, said: “My thanks to all the members who gave up their time on Saturday, which was a cold and windy day, to help out and prepare the ground for the start of another cricket season.

“We are lucky to have a hard working ground sub-committee but it is a large ground to maintain to the high standards that we have come to expect over the past few years.”
