March Town Cricket Club’s ground has been named as the best in the county at Cambridgeshire Cricket Board’s annual presentation evening.
Club President Mel Pooley collected two awards on behalf of the club, which won the award for the best ground and wicket in senior league cricket in Cambridgeshire.
An additional award, presented by Collier Turf Care, included a 100 voucher for the club and a bottle of champagne for groundsman Brian Wright.
John West, the club’s chairman, said: “I am very pleased with the awards, particularly the best ground, as it reflects the enormous amount of work that is done by a small team - much of it being voluntary.”
March play their cricket at the Avenue Sports Ground, in Burrowmoor Road.
