Wisbech Inline Speed Skaters were in action over the weekend for the British Inline Outdoor Marathon Championships at the Velopark, London.

The twisty, undulating one mile tarmac circuit designed for the Olympics, ensured an exciting event with the full marathon resulting in an extremely close fought race. After 26 miles, a 10 man lead group sprint finish resulted in Mike McInerney finishing an excellent 3rd place.

Other club competitors, Flynn McGurk, Dylan Taylor, Jonathan & James Garwell and Arthur Buckler all finished their respective races and were proud of their achievements.

The event was sponsored by local estate Alex Doggett owner of ABODA Homes and a former successful speed skater. Winners trophies and medals were presented by his father & Club Chairman Hugh Doggett. The marathon marks the end of a successful outdoor campaign with Wisbech Inline Speed Skaters now focussing on indoor training at Skaters Roller Rink in Walpole Highway in preparation for the new season in 2016.
