MARCH Town United’s miserable October continued on Saturday as they fell to a 2-1 defeat at Team Bury.
The Hares have not bagged a win in the Thurlow Nunn First Division since September 29, recording just one point in their last four games.
Once again it was sloppy mistakes that proved to be their undoing at the weekend, as Bury raced into a 2-0 lead at half time.
Paul Crosbie’s side rallied after the break but could only take one of their numerous chances.
Top scorer Robbie Masters notched his fifth league goal of the season with a 70th minute header.
Despite laying siege to the Bury goal in the closing stages, March failed to find an equaliser.
The loss leaves them ninth in the table, with seventh-placed Ipswich Wanderers set to visit the GER on Saturday.
• THERE was better news for March Town United Reserves who cruised to a 3-0 derby win over Chatteris Town Reserves.
Goals from David Hodson, Andy Bryan and Sean White fired the Hares’ second string up to eight in Cambs Division 1B.
