MARCH Golf Club held its biggest competition of the year when 88 golfers took part in the Selby and Taylor Challenge Cup.

Pete Ridgway won the men’s competition with the only sub par round of the day that began at 7.30am. He finished four shots clear of Ian Wood, Lewis Ogden, Chris Elliott and Geoff Oldham with a fantastic round of 66 in strong winds.

Sarah Oldham was the winning lady with a nett score of 75, pipping Margaret Groves and Anna Robertson by two and three strokes respectively.

A buffet and prize presentation was held in a packed clubhouse after the event which saw MP Stephen Barclay present the prizes that were donated by Bill Kalsi of Selby and Taylor Opticians, March.
