While March Town versus Wisbech Town may not be the biggest of sporting rivalries, it always throws up entertaining contests – and Saturday’s BKD Cup showdown was no different.
Five goals were shared at the GER, and it was the Fenmen who were left smiling after 90 minutes after they netted four of them.
Sam Murphy opened the scoring, before March equalized to send the sides in level at half time.
But Wisbech’s quality showed in the second half and they stormed to success thanks to strikes from Billy Smith, Curtis Knight and Kieran Hamilton.
Wisbech return to pre-season action tomorrow against Wisbech St Mary, before hosting Burnley at the Elgoods Fenland Stadium on August 1.
