FOOTBALL fanatics decked out their workplace in England gear - only to see their team get dumped out of the World Cup.

The March branch of Norwich and Peterborough Building Society put up red and white bunting in expectation of an English triumph at the finals in South Africa.

They even dressed in red and white clothing during the competition but were disappointed to see Fabio Capello’s team knocked out in the last 16 by Germany.

However retail sales and service manager Geoff Hart said: “It’s really great that we’ve been able to show our support in this way.”

And branch manager Claire Gledhill, who allowed her staff at Broad Street to have the radio on during England’s final group game against Slovenia, added: “We had a really great day being able to show our support for the England team. Customers seemed to like it too.”
