Queen's School, Wisbech, will be hosting a special meeting to discuss athletics development in Fenland at the end of the month.At a meeting last week, representatives from the school talked to Gwyn Potts, the regional development co-ordinator for England Athletics, and Wisbech-based coach Paul Merrell. The meeting was called to discuss how the school could contribute to the development of athletics in Fenland and establish an official group that would drive the sport forward. At the meeting, Potts said: "A good starting point would be to identify prospective coaches and make initial organisational decisions."It is important not to try to do too much too soon but it is also important that we demonstrate our intentions and identify where funds could be best used." It was decided to call a public meeting at the Queen's School from 6.30pm on Thursday, March 30.It is open to anyone who wishes to contribute and discuss ideas regarding Fenland athletics or find out more about becoming an athletics coach.
