Wisbech'S Tucker League Division One clash at home to Camden finished in controversial circumstances.

After Camden had posted a score of 177-6, rain forced the match to be abandoned just two balls into the 26th over of Wisbech's reply.

Had play been suspended before the 26th over, no result or points would have been awarded and the Wisbech averages would have remained unaffected.

However, the timing of the decision left both teams with a draw and just four points apiece.

James Williams and Chris Clark picked up two wickets apiece, and both James Fountain and Craig Johnson took a wicket to restrict Camden to 177-6.

Gary Freear (24) top scored in the Wisbech reply and Williams (20 not out) and Gavin Plume (2 not out) were at the crease when the game was suspended.

Rain also denied Wisbech II a chance of victory in their Hunts League Division Two match at Orton Park.

Paul Strickle (4-24), Orlando Prestidge (3-11), Lee Peck (2-36) and Henry Rosier (1-18) were all in outstanding form as the home side slumped to 108 all out.

Wisbech looked to be heading towards victory but the rain brought an end to their reply in the 11th over with the visitors on 60-2.

It was a similar story for Wisbech III, in their West Norfolk Division Four match at Downham III.

The home side's batting order were devastated by a brilliant display from Dave Lemoir, who returned figures of 11-4-28-7 and limited them to a modest 161-8 from 45 overs.

Matthew Parrin (32) was the batsman in form as Wisbech's challenge was halted by rain after 28.4 overs.

- LEVERINGTON recovered well in their West Norfolk League Division Two opener at home to Springwood on Saturday.

They were in trouble at 21-4 but Adam Fairbrother hit an excellent 72 in a partnership of 60 with Andy Reid, and a 30-run partnership with Ian Cooper.

Fairbrother eventually fell with the score at 127 but good lower-order batting from debutant James Allen (10) and Mark Godfrey (10 not out) guided the home side to 148 all out after 44.3 overs.

Leverington started well with Ian Cooper picking up the vital wicket of Darren Clarke with only 12 on the board.

Wickets continued to fall at regular intervals with Paul Thompson, Mark Godfrey and Martin Melton all picking up a wicket apiece but as Springwood passed the 100-mark, rain brought an end to play.

Leverington's Fenland Trophy game against Warboys on Sunday was rained off without a ball being bowled.
