BOXER Jordan Gill says he is determined to steal the show when he makes his professional debut – just SIX DAYS after he turns 18.

The Chatteris star is set to box on the undercard for Kell Brook’s IBF World title eliminator bout with Carson Jones in Sheffield on July 7.

He will make his debut in front of thousands of people – but this week he said he was more nervous about his A-level exams.

“It’s a dream come true,” said Gill. “I want to steal the show – I want it to be the Jordan Gill show.

“I will be training here until my last exam on June 20 and then I’m going straight up to Sheffield.

“I’ve just got the five exams to go now - I’m more nervous about them than the fight.”

Legendary trainer Dominic Ingle said special arrangements had been made to get Gill’s boxing licence in time for the bout.

He said: “If you look through the record books it is probably one of the shortest times in between an 18th birthday and a debut.”

Gill’s opponent is yet to be arranged but the contest will take place in the 12,000-seat Motorpoint Arena, with Sky Sports covering the main event.

Gill, who finished his amateur career by winning an Amateur Boxing Association (ABA) title, said it was a dream come true.

He said: “I can’t believe it really because I always dreamed about making a debut on one of Kell’s bills and now it’s really happened.

“These are really exciting times and hopefully the start of a special journey.

“I’m still only a baby, so I’m using the next three years to really learn my trade and then, by the time I’m 21, I’ll be ready to bring titles back to Chatteris.”

Gill has been visiting Sheffield to train with boxing champions including Brook, Junior Witter and Kid Galahad.

Trainer Ingle said: “All the boxers have said they can see his potential and so can we. Paul (Gill) has done a fantastic job with him at Chatteris.

“When he comes up to our place he’s obviously a small fish in a big pond but you can see he’s got that ability.

“He can more than hold his own with the guys in the gym.”

Gill, who joined boxing legend Ricky Hatton at a “Body Power Expo” event in Birmingham this month, thanked sponsors Jordan Fitness for their support.

• A COACH will be arranged to offer transport to Gill’s debut.
