Top scorer Bethan McCarthy from Walpole attended the World Roller Games Nanjing in China representing England Senior Ladies roller hockey over the weekend.

Playing in the FIRS Cup, England Ladies remained unbeaten throughout of their group, winning five matches and a draw in one. They finished top of the group and won the FIRS championship cup.

Bethan who plays for England U17’s, England Ladies Seniors and Peterborough RHC also finished as the top scorer of the tournament with 13 goals.

Bethan would like to say thank you to her sponsors The Round table and Vauxhall’s Thurlow Nunn at Wisbech for their help with funding the trip, and thank you to her coach at Peterborough RHC, Arthur Corr, for all the training and pushing her along in preparation for the cup.
