MARCH Rugby Club held its annual charity match at the Elm Road sports field on Saturday.

This year, the club committee decide to raise money for the special care baby unit at Hinchingbrooke Hospital, Huntingdon.

The March Bears' annual Town v Villages match is in its seventh year and has raised more than £1,500 for good causes.

The event has become one of the more hotly-contested games on the Bears' fixture list with club team-mates turned into rivals for this particular contest.

The usual pre-match build-up was enhanced this year with the clubs' vice-presidents sitting down for a meal before heading to the touchline to support the players.

The Town were the victors and more than £200 was raised for the baby unit.

Post-match entertainment was provided with a buffet for the players and a karaoke evening.
