Young boxer Liam Finlay produced some of his finest boxing to date to power to victory in the pre-quarter finals of the Eastern Counties vs. London Junior Amateur Boxing Association championships.

The 14-year-old Sparta fighter, who has only been at the club since late last year, took on an opponent from Gator ABC and boxed exceptionally well to win by a points decision.

Liam displayed some superb set-piece moves, with his accurate punching proving too much for his opponent over three rounds.

Sparta coach Matt Lenton was proud of Finlay’s performance, saying: “Liam had a set plan before the fight and he stuck to it throughout. I’m very proud of him.”
