IT HAS been a hugely successful sporting year for March s Daniel Woods. The 13-year-old sports fanatic picked up the Sportsman of the Year award at Neale-Wade Community College and was awarded the school colours. But Daniel, from Upwell Road, March, has a

IT HAS been a hugely successful sporting year for March's Daniel Woods.

The 13-year-old sports fanatic picked up the Sportsman of the Year award at Neale-Wade Community

College and was awarded the school colours.

But Daniel, from Upwell Road, March, has also been in top form at club level, skippering March Tigers to their Third Division title and picking up the team's footballer of the year award along the way.

And he isn't finished there. Daniel is the captain of March Cricket Club's under-13 team, with whom he won the cricketer of the year trophy this season.

And at the weekend, Daniel scored two goals and was awarded the player of the match award for March V hockey team when they beat local rivals Wisbech V.

Daniel's father, John said: "He is naturally gifted when it comes to sport. He seems to be able to just pick up anything and excel at it.

"He is a very good athlete and competes in the javelin and long jump for the school, and when we go on holiday Daniel wins table tennis and pool competitions."

John added: "Daniel seems to be an excellent leader and he gets on very well with his team-mates.

He is always the first one to organise fund-raising events for charity or sports clubs."
