Ridgeons First Division: Whitton United 0 March Town United 1
DAN Sterna’s last minute header gave March Town United a stunning shock win against newly-crowned Suffolk Senior Cup champions Whitton United today.
Sterna pounced at the death to secure a memorable victory for the Hares and hand Whitton their first league defeat since August. The 1-0 win avenges the 4-0 drubbing March suffered in the same fixture at the GER last month.
The result comes just five days after Whitton clinched the cup by beating Lakenheath 1-0 in front of 1,000 fans at Portman Road. Today, they were beaten in front of just 70.
The victory leaves the Hares in seventh place in the Ridgeons First Division. They host Long Melford next Saturday.
