STRIKER Ash Stevens has returned to Wisbech Town on a short-term loan deal.
Steve Appleby was forced to move for the Spalding player this week after Dubi Ogbonna failed to recover from his ankle injury.
Talismanic forward Chris Bacon has been sidelined for up to three weeks with torn shoulder ligaments, and with Simon Mowbray released last week, Appleby was suddenly left with few options up front.
He has signed Stevens on a “game-to-game” loan deal and the former Holbeach United man will go straight into the squad for tomorrow’s trip to Brantham Athletic.
Stevens was part of the Fenmen’s successful 2010/11 campaign - helping them lift the Ridgeons League Challenge Cup last May.
