DIVISION TWO NORTH

March I 5 City of Peterborough II 3

FOUR first-half goals from star striker Lauren Oakman put March well on the way to victory.

March went a goal down after just 10 minutes but the equaliser came following a good solo run and finish from leading scorer Oakman, who then took control and put the hosts 4-1 up at the break.

Town had the majority of the possession in the second half and came close with efforts from Emma Rawlinson, Robyn Gribble and Liz Robinson.

Eventually City of Peterborough got the break they were looking for and pulled a goal back.

This spurred the visitors into a good attacking spell and they closed the gap to 4-3.

March kept possession well and a good move down the right wing and a super cross from Rawlinson was well finished by Robinson.

The win secured the points that keep March second in the table.

March II 0 Cambridge South I 5

MARCH struggled to find form early on against a strong Cambridge South side.

Just as it looked as though March would hold out until half-time, the visitors scored.

Despite some fine goalkeeping by stand-in keeper Tracy Liversedge and an excellent display at the back from Lorna Larham, March conceded two further goals before the interval.

The second half mirrored the first, with limited attacks from March, and Cambridge pinning the hosts back for long periods.

The visitors wrapped up victory with two further goals in the closing minutes.

Within three minutes of the restart, a well-worked penalty corner routine saw Toby Sutton strike a superb shot past the keeper.

Saints came back with a consolation goal but almost immediately, Nickalls restored March's four-goal advantage.

A superb strike from Sutton confirmed March's victory, but in the dying minutes, St Neots managed to beat keeper Toby Odlin.
