Triple gold for Peterborough BCKA kickboxer Molloy and debut gold for Harris at WKC World Championships

Fenland’s kickboxers have proved they are the best in the business after a stunning performance at the WKC World Championships.

Six Peterborough BCKA fighters travelled to Portugal to represent England in the elite competition. All six returned with medals.

The standout performer was Freya Molloy, who picked up three gold medals. There was also a gold for Jaden Harris in her first world championships.

Eddy Paddock picked up three silvers and a bronze, Chelesea Munday clinched three silvers, Leon Gold collected a silver and a bronze and there were two bronzes for Grant Brown.

Andy Whitwell, Peterborough BCKA executive instructor, said: “I don’t think they have stopped smiling since they have returned and this is a great springboard for the Irish Open early next year.

“I was particularly pleased for Jaden Harris, Leon Gold and Chelsea Munday, as this was their first World Championship event. To come home with medals is a great achievement.

“It goes without saying that I am extremely proud of all of these fighters.

Eddy Paddock: Boys under 13 -45kg light contact - Silver; Cadet boys -45kg Light contact - Silver; Boys under 13 -45kg points - Bronze; Boys under 13 team Light contact - silver.

Leon Gold: Mens -65kg light contact - silver; Mens -65kg points - bronze.

Grant Brown: Mens points -70kg - bronze; Mens points -75kg - bronze.

Chelsea Munday: Junior girls points -65kg - silver; Junior girls light contact -65kg - silver; Junior girls team -65kg - silver.
