Chatteris Town’s young guns carried on their tremendous season with a stunning 3-2 win at Kershaw Senior A leaders Hemingfords United.

Ross Alexander, Simon Howard and Anton Kaval were on target as the Lilies got revenge for the five goal drubbing they were handed by the hosts in January.

The win means Chatteris are fifth in Kershaw Senior A, seven points clear of sixth place Somersham Town.

Fourth place Milton are only two points ahead, having played two more games. Above them are Soham United, Fowlmere and Hemingfords.

Joint manager Lester Kent said: “Credit to our side, they were very good. The 3-2 score line flattered Hemingfords.

“The top five still have to play each other a lot so it would be rash to make predictions.

“All we can do is keep winning our games. Jock Bedford was very strong with that message before the Hemingfords game, If we want to be in contention at the end of the season only wins will do.”
