GOALS from Dubi Ogbonna and Steven Reid helped unbeaten Wisbech Town see off Woodbridge Town on Saturday.
The Fenmen, who have not lost in five competitive games and were invincible in seven pre-season fixtures, conquered soaring temperatures to canter to a 2-0 away victory.
Ogbonna put them ahead in the 13th minute before Reid doubled their lead on the stroke of half time.
Steve Appleby’s side missed chances to put a gloss on the scoreline in the second half - but they held on for a result which moves them up to fourth in the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division.
Wisbech host Diss Town in the league tomorrow before Saturday’s FA Cup showdown with Yaxley at the Elgood’s Fenland Stadium. The Fenmen will earn a clash with Kettering Town if they can beat former March Town United boss Brett Whaley’s United Counties League outfit.
Goals from Chris Bacon (2), Rogan McGeorge, Matt Lunn and Simon Mowbray helped Wisbech beat Desborough Town at the second attempt in the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round Replay last week.
