FENCES were repaired and sight screens were painted as March Town Cricket Club tidied up for NatWest CricketForce.

More than 30 members spent their Saturday morning helping to prepare The Avenue for the start of the cricket season.

Improvements were made to the seating, a kit inventory was completed and the car-park and dykes were cleaned. Cambridgeshire Cricket Development Manager Jenny Lambert also paid a visit.

Chairman Les Mills thanked the volunteers, who all received a 2012 NatWest CricketForce T-shirt for taking part in the nationwide initiative.

He said: “Our aim is to always try and improve The Avenue ground, which is considered by many as one of the best in Cambridgeshire.

“Special thanks to one of our vice presidents, John Wilson, and his staff who painted the sight screens a few days earlier.”
