Wisbech star Cameron, 11, becomes national kickboxing champion as BCKA dominate
HARD-HITTING 11-year-old Charlotte Cameron has become a national champion after just six months of competitive kickboxing.
The Wisbech star put in a stunning performance as the British and Chinese Kickboxing Association (BCKA) returned with 21 trophies from the national championships in Corby.
Cameron has been training with the BCKA, which runs clubs in March, Wisbech, Whittlesey and Chatteris, for two years.
She had her first fight in November - but on Saturday she became the under-50kg advanced girls continuous champion.
Her example was followed by Whittlesey’s Courtney Brown who showed his class to become the advanced points champion in the 15-17 age group.
Coach Andy Whitwell, a 5th Dan Black Belt, said he was delighted with his BCKA stars, who racked up 12 titles, six second places and three third places.
“I can’t stress enough how proud I am of our team,” he said. “To get 12 British BCKA Champions is an amazing result.
