WISBECH Swimming club overcame their disappointment of finishing second in the Senior Fenland League by becoming 2011 Anglian League champions at the weekend.
Wisbech’s swimmers travelled to Boston’s Gala knowing only a stunning performance would clinch the title as they entered the event joint-top of the league with St Ives.
The club’s swimmers produced 10 first places, nine second places and 16 personal best times to see Wisbech (171 points) pip Boston A to the gala crown while clinching the league title by just two points.
