A late goal gave March Town Ladies the perfect warm-up to their Cambs Women’s Premiership opener last weekend.
Livvi Hodges struck with five minutes to play to send the Hares to a 2-1 win over Hungate Rovers ahead of their league opener at Peterborough ICA Sports on Thursday.
Hodges gave March the lead just seconds in after her lofted cross ended up in the net, before Hungate levelled with 10 minutes of the first half left to play thanks to Kelsey McKenna’s neat finish.
But the Hares clinched the victory in the 85th minute after Chas Miller’s through ball sliced through the Hungate defence and player-of-the-match Hodges finished well.
March travel to Peterborough on Thursday (10) for their first league encounter before hosting four consecutive home games against Cambridge City, Orton Rangers in the League Cup, St Ives and Netherton United.
