March Town Ladies suffered a title hiccup when falling to a first defeat of the Cambridgeshire Women’s & Girls League Championship North season.
The table-topping Hares were beaten 4-2 by a Swineshead side who climbed into second place as a result.
Adele Munday and player-of-the-match Jade Pointer hit the goals for March. Manager Gary Davis said: “To lose our first league game of the season in April is a good record at any level of football.
“The team played well – we just didn’t put our chances away.”
March remain six points clear of Swineshead in the standings. They host Ketton this Sunday.
