ELM’s Nicky Young will be aiming to try and become Wisbech’s first World Champion for nearly a decade when he contests the 2L Banger World Final which takes place at King’s Lynn’s Norfolk Arena on Saturday July 17th at 6pm.

The meeting is fully booked with 130 cars having been accepted to race. Young is the only local driver to have already automatically qualified for the race and will be looking to transfer his recent good run form into the Lynn meeting. His failure to win a race so far in 2010 may be a cause of concern to his large fan base but Saturday represents an excellent opportunity for him to break his duck.

Several other Wisbech drivers will be aiming to qualify for the main race. Amongst the competitors are Ricky Twell, Tom Chilton, Jay Chilton, Steve Hemmings and Luke Allan, all from Wisbech. The Gypsy Crew will be represented by Wisbech duo Kevin McClagish and Adam Jolly whilst other local drivers in action include Richard Maryon, Rob Everett, Nathan Young and 16 year old Aaron Gray who will be making his adult National banger debut,

The action packed 2L Stock Cars are also in action with Sam Lakey of Wisbech looking to continue his improved form and Ivan Street of Chatteris will be aiming to get back on the winners podium.
