WIMBLEDON may be capturing the nation’s imagination at the moment but Wisbech Tennis Club held a tournament which was just as gripping on Sunday.

The club’s annual junior tournament attracted 42 players from Wisbech, the surrounding villages and King’s Lynn.

A visitor from Spain even got in on the act.

The juniors fought some close battles in the sunshine on the grass courts at Harecroft Road.

Events were held both for juniors who were playing their first ever matches and those who were more experienced. The next tournament, for juniors aged eight and under and nine and under, takes place on Sunday July 21. Non members are welcome.
