Chatteris began the half brightly, and good work from Asa Revell resulted in a smart finish from Jake Kaval.
Hungate rallied and put the visitors under pressure.
But fine saves from Matthijs Nooteboom and desperate defending prevented the equaliser and sent Chatteris through to the second round.
