THE Anglian Players are currently celebrating their 60th year performing breath taking and exciting shows to public audiences, and to celebrate this major achievement they will be producing a fantastically funny comic farce written by Derek Benfield titled Wild Goose Chase, a play that is guaranteed to make you cry with laughter and be begging for more.

Last year was an incredibly successful year for the amateur dramatics group, not only because of the brilliantly executed productions of Oscar Wilde’s Importance Of Being Ernest and Phillip King’s See How They Run, but they also enjoyed all of the new faces not only in the audience but in the cast as well.

This year they are hoping to build on the successes of last years shows and are holding an open to all read through and auditions at March Youth and Community Centre in which we are encouraging anybody who wishes to be a part of the show, from being on the big stage to being the gears that keep things working behind the scenes, all are welcome.

The action begins when Chester Dreadnought bluffs his way into the crumbling stately home of a rather penniless aristocratic family, and even a trigger happy belted-Earl who is suffering from hallucinations cannot keep at bay the enterprising pair of jewel thieves who are pursuing their loot, as well as Chester, all round the castle. Suits of armour and secret doors, mistaken identities and dotty servants all help to provide the variety of fun situations that go into making this “Wild Goose Chase”.

A read through is on Thursday, September 2 at 7.30pm at the March Youth and Community Centre. Auditions will take place on Tuesday, September 7 and Thursday, September 9, also at 7,30pm in the same location.
