THE Anglian Players will present readings of four short comedy plays by the Russian playwright Anton Chekhov next week at March Town Hall.
Largely unfamiliar to many theatre audiences, Chekhov’s shorter comedy plays, or vaudevilles, are often very light-hearted, enjoyable pieces which nevertheless illustrate the tragedy inherent in the human condition.
Four such pieces will be performed by members of The Anglian Players, who will present them in the style of radio plays.
The one-off performance – a new venture for The Anglian Players – will take place in the Skoulding Suite at March Town Hall on Wednesday February 1 at 7.30pm.
Admission is 2.50 per person, payable on the door. Refreshments will be available.
