To mark the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War The Wisbech Players will perform the play Journey’s End at the Angles Theatre, Wisbech.

There will be five performances from November 11 to 15 with auditions beginning soon.

First produced in 1928, the play concerns the lives of a group of British officers in a dug-out on the front line towards the end of the war.

The play was an instant stage success and remains a great anti-war classic.

The play will be directed by Emlyn Moment with an all male cast of ten to twelve. So there is plenty of opportunity for some additional young men to join the society for this production.

Rehearsals begin in September. Read-throughs and auditions will be held in Wisbech with a read-through on Monday August 4 at Mendi’s, The Old Market at 7.30pm.

There will be a read-through on Wednesday August 6 at the Rosmini Centre in Queens Road at 7.30pm.

Auditions are on Thursday August 7 at Mendi’s at 7.30pm.
