A film about Wisbech Second World War hero Charlie Cox will be shown at The Luxe Cinema on Tuesday.
The Red Beret, starring Alan Ladd, Leo Genn and Susan Stephen, will tell the amazing tale of a wartime raid on the German radar station at Bruneval.
The raid was a combined services operation and the 2nd Battalion of the 1st Parachute Brigade was led by Major ‘John Frost’ (Major Snow).
An RAF radar expert, Flight Sergeant Cox (Sergeant Box) accompanied the raiders to tell them what to take back to England. The operation was a success and shortened the war.
The film will be shown at 2.30pm. Tickets from the box office at 01945 588 808 or online at www.theluxecinema.com
