A special Edwardian Garden Party is taking Wisbech Castle back to 1914.
The event commemorates the Great War and is the launch of a new heritage project helping local school children to explore the significance of conflict.
The event takes place on July 5 and 6 between 10am and 4pm both days.
The event has activities for the whole family including re-enactments from Four and 20 Blackbirds group, Edwardian games and various exhibitions.
There will also be a concert by King’s Lynn Town Band on Sunday 6 at 2pm.
The heritage project, working with 20 local schools, aims to explore historical connections that the local area has with the Great War.
There will be a focus on local soldiers lost during the battle.
Michelle Lawes, Wisbech Castle Coordinator at Cambridgeshire County Council, said: “ The Four and 20 Blackbirds Re-enactment Group will be transforming Wisbech Castle back 100 years to when it was rented by dentist, Mr F W Bradley to give a real sense of the Edwardian period and Wisbech’s connection to the Great War.
“There are lots of activities for everyone to enjoy, so please come along.”
Entrance fees are £2 per adult, £1 concessions and £5 family.
