FOR families looking for a fun filled afternoon in the school holidays, Granny’s Big Top Tale at Littleport Leisure Centre could be just the ticket.
When Granny Flo and little Ruby win golden tickets to go to the circus, anything can happen and probably will! They meet clowns, acrobats and the world’s greatest strongman (who isn’t very strong). With dance, songs, clowning and chaos, this is a hilarious show for all the family.
Written and devised by Victoria Sklar and Rebecca Little of Little Pixie Productions, the show was nominated for a Best Show for Families award at the Buxton Festival Fringe.
The show is being brought to Littleport by ADeC, Arts Development in East Cambridgeshire, as part of the Make It Happen project, a programme designed to offer local groups the skills and support needed to stage arts events in the heart of their own communities.
Jean Rees, a member of the organising team for Littleport ,said: “As our first project we wanted something that would appeal widely to families and offer them something fun in Littleport during the school holidays. Granny’s Big Top Tale definitely promises to provide spectacular laughs for all ages..”

*ADeC will be running another Make It Happen course in Soham starting on March 28. This free course for adults will be based at Soham Village College and no previous event experience is necessary. As well as learning the skills to select promote and stage a public event, participants will have the opportunity to gain an NCFE stewarding qualification.
Zoe Davidson from ADeC said ‘It’s another great opportunity for participants to get a hands - on experience of putting on their own event on. The course is rewarding and fun, and a great opportunity to share your skills with your local community. The first session will be a taster session running from 7 – 8pm.
