TWO “Down the Aisle” bridal shows will be the highlight of a wedding fair being staged in Chatteris Parish Church on Saturday March 2.

The event - which runs from 11am to 4pm - will also feature live music, and hair and make-up demonstrations.

Organiser Ellen Arkle said: “Most wedding fairs are held in bland settings, but we have put it in a place where it should be. The bridal show, showing off dresses for brides and bridesmaids, will look splendid as they walk down the aisle.”

Bridal fashions will be provided by Savvy Cinderella of Manea, and music during the day will be provided by pianist Jayne Hayes. Ellen hopes there will also be an organ recital, and that the church bell ringers will perform, to add to the festive atmosphere.

The bridal gift bags will contain offers and information from some of the suppliers attending the show, and the beauty demonstrations will be given by staff from Aphrodite’s in Chatteris.

Vicar of St Peter and St Paul’s Church, Rev Wendy Thomson, will also be on hand to answer questions from any potential brides and grooms.

Rev Thomson said: “If you are getting married in 2013 or beyond, this is the place to be. With lots of different local suppliers to choose from, you will be spoiled for choice with ideas for your big day.

“We will have two fashion shows during the day, so if you cant make the fair in the morning, then fret not, you will have another chance to see all the action in the afternoon.”

Tea and home made cakes will be served throughout the day, and entry is free.

Ellen, who is being assisted by Heather Bicknell in organising the fair, says there are still a few stalls available for exhibitors. Contact her on e-mail: chatterischurch@hotmail.co.uk
