Chatteris Past, Present and Future (Chatteris Civic Society) will hold a public meeting next week.
Chris Howes, a former Chatteris Town Councillor and current member of Inland Waterways National Restoration Committee, will lead the meeting.
He will discuss what he considers the Environment Agency’s failure to maintain statutory navigations in the region and their unfortunate withdrawal from the Fens Waterways Link.
Mr Howes will also discuss the possible ‘resurrection of Chatteris Dock’ by the provision of moorings on the Forty Foot drain, as well as the potential for a two-and-a-half mile ‘linear park’ along the Horseway Arm of the Forty Foot.
The meeting will take place in the Vermuyden rooms, Chatteris Library, on Wednesday 27 January from 7.30pm.
